As a market leader, they offer comprehensive solutions and systems to suit specific customer needs such as equipment for rice milling, flour milling, colour sorting, animal feed technology, oil milling, grinding & dispersion technology to the global market, complete with engineering is continuously doing research in the advanced technologies and implementing it in the existing designs to get the benefits to its customers.
The client was looking to associate with a long-term engineering support services partner for Upgrading their existing platform from Bentley AutoPLANT to Siemens COMOS. Hence there are New PID symbols and all their legacy PID Symbols are to be created in Siemens COMOS.
There were quite few objects whose symbol needed to change based on objects Variant type. Also, few symbols needed to be extended to have more connection points whenever the symbols are extended.
Sedin has provided engineering support services to a growing list of happy clients from around the globe. For this project, there were 2 teams involved in PID Symbols creation. One was manually creating the New PID symbols based on the Inputs given by Customer and other Team involved in Importing / modifying some of the existing PID symbols (AutoCAD Drawing).
Our COMOS development team used the Symbol script to create Direct or Dynamic symbols for different Variants of the same object.
User gets the flexibility to work with symbols. Database space is reduced as not many objects are created for each variant. Thus, reduces manual efforts for the users and helps the organization to utilize the COMOS application efficiently. This also ensures the Quality of Symbols with proper dimensions inside COMOS.
